Jazz and Blues Workshop, With Derek Nash and Anna Brooks from Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra
Circle Lounge, Ipswich Regent Theatre, Saturday 2nd November, 2pm – 3.30pm. Plus Jim Watson on keys & George Double on drums
A workshop for front line instruments (saxes, brass, woodwind, etc) to explore a tune played by Jools Holland’s band. We will cover both practical and theoretical methods of playing, yet it will be simple and logical so all can appreciate and “have a go”, at whatever level your playing is at – we can stretch you if you are advanced and support you if you are unsure. Bring your horns, and learn about warm up exercises, being creative and understanding the “rules” of jazz and blues. A great opportunity to play and learn with some of the UK’s premier league jazz and blues musicians. Cost £25.
